It Looks Clean.. but is it?
Toilet overflows sometimes appear clean. However, any water that has been in contact with clogged sewage pipes or that results from a sewer backup is considered by the EPA to be black water (sewage water).
Sewage backup or black water presents a serious health risk to all who are exposed to the contamination. It also presents a long term risk to structures that come in contact with it.
If you experience a sewage back up, call us immediately. Delay allows pathogenic bacteria to multiply increasing the risk to you and your family. If left unattended it can seep deeper into structures where it can become lodged causing "sick building syndrome".
Any absorbent material (including carpet) that has been in contact with sewage must be removed and replaced with new material. The subfloor will then be steam cleaned and treated to disinfect completely.
